Part 256: Day 51

The next morning came as any other. Eddie and Walt were running along the beach with Vincent without a care in the world. Sawyer had just got done cooking the last of his sausages, which he had no problem sharing with Natasha and after a little coaxing, Kate as well. Barbara giggled at Jilly as the deaf girl had chopped up two bananas and then drenched them in chocolate syrup, to eat for her breakfast. She mentioned it was the best she could do since she had no milk. It was a interesting sight to see how every one handled their own unique breakfast.

Charlie had just gotten done searching through the baskets of the laundry area. He always felt a little guilty about not cleaning his own clothes but some of the woman insisted on it; mostly to help themselves feel busy. Rose seemed to be the head cleaner. The musician smirked at the aspect of the kind old woman; making him miss his mother slightly. As he was walking back along the beach, he looked and spotted Clay waist deep in ocean water, shaving. Seeing the tall man use Claire’s razor and the comment he made about her legs, didn’t really sit well with him. The musician paused and then began to walk toward him.

Clay scraped his face a final time, and then splashed some water onto it, making him wince in pain. “It’s the salt water,” Charlie said, “It makes the pores sting.”

“I knew that.” Clay sighed.

“Clay, right?”

“Yeah?” the billionaire wondered who this man was keen on getting his attention.

“Can you come here for a second?” the musician motioned him out of the water.

Clay dapped the razor into the water and picked up the shaving cream canister floating next to him. He started to wade through the water toward the shorter man. Charlie crossed his arms, standing in front of him. Clay picked up his towel and slapped it across his broad shoulder. “Yes?” he asked, finally.

“Just a tip, since . .uh . .you’re new here.” Charlie pointed to Sawyer’s tent, “There is a bloke who lives in that tent who trades in goods here on the beach. Next time you need a bloody razor, you go see him.”

“Hmm. I did not know that.” Clay shook his head, “But then again, the razor was just a bonus.”

Charlie blinked, “I’m sorry?”

“I really did it just to get close to Claire.” The billionaire fully admitted.

“That’s really nice. However, she doesn’t need to get close to anybody right now. She has a baby to take care of.”

“I noticed. Are you the one filling the daddy role?”

“Bugger off, mate,” Charlie hissed.

“You are, aren’t you?” the tall man smirked, “Otherwise you wouldn’t be over here, protecting your investment. I can respect that. But quite honestly, what the hell could she ever see in you?”

Charlie stepped up, pointing at Clay’s chest. “I am warning you. Stay away from her.”

“I am pretty sure that when she gets to know me better, she’ll see that it would be better for me to be her, daddy in more ways than one.”

Charlie grunted, seeing how the man was goading him. He wasn’t going to have any of it. He began to turn around. “Hey, you’re . . .British, aren’t you?” Clay asked.

“What of it?” Charlie retorted.

“Why don’t you . . uh . . .go smoke a fag and leave Claire to a real man?” the CEO smirked.

Charlie took one breath and then punched the tall man.

Clay fell back into the ocean water as Charlie tackled him. The musician managed to deliver two punches before Clay got him the rib cage. The short man collapsed onto the sand, as the tall man got onto top of him and proceeded to punch him severely. The two men continued their brawl, getting the attention of the others near the beach.

“Oh, my god, “ Shanna gasped, seeing the brawl down at the edge of the beach.

Seth raised up from his fruit he was eating with cold cereal. Mia turned from behind the log they were sharing. She gasped, seeing Clay pick up Charlie and body slam him into the water. The young bookstore worker continued eating his cereal. “Damn,” he whispered.

“Oh, my Goodness,” Libby said, walking up near them, “Clay’s only been here a few day and he’s already pissed off somebody.”

“Seth!” Shanna pushed him.

“What?” he said, eating his breakfast.

“Don’t just sit there! Do something!” the redhead urged.

“Do something?” he turned to the brawl down the beach.

“YES!” she leaped up and down.

“Yeah,” he said, putting his breakfast aside, “I guess you are right.”

Seth then got up and as he ran toward him, he quickly pulled of his orange T-Shirt and flung it into the wind. Clay grunted as he head Charlie under the ocean water with his foot. He gasped just in time for Seth to tackle him. The billionaire buckled under the abrupt force, falling into the shallows. Seth grabbed him by the throat and began to shove his face up and down in the water. “Oh, no,” Libby covered her mouth.

“SETH!” Shanna screamed, slamming her hands into her forehead, “THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT!!!!”

Charlie finally got up, coughing up water. He quickly then leaped onto Clay and began to help his friend pummel the tall man. Mia rolled her eyes into the back of her head in dismay. “I’ll get John.” She said, running off into the distance.

Clay lurched throwing both of them off of him. He was having difficulty breathing. The billionaire quickly crawled onto the sand and coughed up the water in his lungs. He then grunted as he felt a swift kick in his chest. Seth and Charlie were at that moment, stomping him. “HOW’S THAT FEEL?” Charlie screamed, “MAYBE YOU’D LIKE TO SMOKE A FAG, YOU DENGAL BASTARD!!!”

Charlie’s war speech was interrupted by Sayid grabbing him. John then came behind and grabbed Seth in a headlock. Libby walked over and gently helped up Clay who was spitting blood. “COOL IT, SETH!!” John said, holding onto him.

“You tell that bastard to pick on someone his own size!” Seth pointed.

Jack, Tony and Kate then quickly arrived. Jack immediately ran up to Clay as he held onto his ribcage. He checked him out as he was wheezing. “What the hell happened?” the doctor asked.

“I don’t know, “ Libby sighed, “But I am sure it was Clay’s fault.”

“Thank’s a lot.” The billionaire grunted.

“Jack, why don’t you look at him,” Tony said, “And me and John will take care of these two.”

“Thanks, Tony,” he said, escorting the wounded man back.

“I will see you again soon, Clay!” Seth grunted.

“Shut it, Seth,” the blind doctor hissed.

“IT AIN’T OVER, BYATCH!!!” the young singer screamed, one last time before John jerked him away.

Charlie coughed up blood, feeling a small tooth look. He flung his salt water soaked hair back over his head. Tony continued to reprimand Seth as he and John escorted their younger friend away. Sayid didn’t say anything to Charlie; it wasn’t his business.

Besides, it wasn’t their reprimands he was worried about.
