Part 95: The Fight For John Part 3
Tony and McKay ran hard into the jungle. The darkness was now enveloped all the surroundings. The Australian managed to hold the flash light and hold his blind friend’s wrist as they ran. The journey was not easy. But they had to hurry before John ran out of air.
Then McKay abruptly stopped. Tony jerked, stopping with him. “McKay, what is it?” he demanded.
“There is a lost boy right in front of us.” He whispered.
The two men had wandered into a small clearing. In front of them was on of the lost boys, squatting on the ground. Judging by his posture and the smile on his face, the Australian assumed this was Cedric. “Cedric?” he asked.
“Qui.” The leader whispered.
“Demand that he tells us where John is.” Tony grunted.
McKay said the command in French. Cedric laughed and then replied in his native tongue, “Soon.”
“He’s toying with us.” McKay gritted his teeth.
“Let’s see him toy with this.” Tony said, pulling out the gun.
Cedric then spoke very harshly at Tony. McKay raised an eyebrow; wondering why the young teenager put so much anger in this voice at a man he hardly knew. The young boy said one last harsh thing and McKay stammered at what he said. “Tony?” he whispered, “Cedric said he’s going to kill you again.”
“Again?” the blind doctor whispered, “I haven’t even met him before tonight.”
“He kept calling you The Ghost. If I didn’t know better. . . .I think he thinks you are someone else.”
“Ghost?” Tony muttered, then something clicked in his head, “Oh, wow . ..that man . . that dead man John and Mia found! He was wearing a blind fold too! And I have his gun!”
Cedric made a move against him. McKay pulled out his sword and stepped forward. “Tony, he’s moving against-“
Before he could finish the sentence, the Australian was attacked from the shadow by one of the Black Faction girls. She screamed and leaped onto him. He grunted as he started clawing at his chest. Then McKay screamed bloody murder as she bit hard into his shoulder. “MCKAY!” Tony screamed, concerned for his friend.
Tony the grunted as Cedric tackled him at full force. The two warriors felt back against a tree. The force of the impact was so strong, Tony accidentally dropped his gun. The blind doctor held onto his cane with hand and then slammed his fist into Cedric’s kidney with the other. The lost boy reeled from the blow but didn’t let go of Tony. The two men wrestled and hit another tree. Then Cedric lost his footing and they began to tumble. Tony grunted as he fell down with him. He didn’t realize that he was nearby a hill on a slope. McKay saw what happened and wanted to help his blind friend badly but he had to first deal with the banshee on his back.

Brendon ran through the jungle with lightning speed. He had to catch up with Seth to make sure he was okay. As he searched the jungle for his comrades, he came across two lost boys with broken body parts. The Asian man smirked as this was a sure sign of Jenny’s handiwork. He even know why she didn’t kill them; Jeet Kune Do teaches their students that when an enemy is down, walk away. He half-hoped he could be like that but in the end, it was too late for him. Brendon didn’t kill the wounded boys; he knew they would die from those wounds without the proper treatment anyway.
Then he paused as he heard gunfire. He quickly ran toward it, knowing Seth had a gun.
Seth’s heart was pounding out of his chest. He heard something. He knew he heard something. He held the gun aloft, already fired it a few times. But where was his opponent? Sweat rolled down the back of his neck and he felt as if his back was soaked. He wanted to live. He wanted to see Tanya again. He wanted to see his parents and sister again. The rage of the Black Faction trying to take all this away, made him fuel his resolve a little more. If he had to get rid of them to see his loved ones again, so be it.
The unfortunate part was, Seth was so much into his thoughts, he didn’t hear the Lost Boy behind him, cocking back their weapon.
Brendon then stopped as he heard some heavy breathing. The Asian man peered through the darkness. He sighed as he saw his friend, standing in the shadows. But then he saw one of Black Faction holding a gun to his friends’ back. In a split second, he knew the savage would fire the weapon and Seth would be dead. Brendon knew he wasn’t fast enough to stop the crazed teenager and save his friend at the same time. Since he only had time enough to choose one option, for Brendon, it was a no-brainer.
The Asian man quickly ran into the line of fire, between the Lost Boy and Seth. The savage immediately fired his weapon. “SETH, LOOK OU-“ Brendon screamed but he was interrupted by two bullets striking him in the back.
Seth twirled and caught his friend as he landed onto him. The young man immediately raised his weapon and fired, hitting the lost boy right in the head. He jerked as his dead body fell to the side. Seth and Brendon landed on the ground within seconds. Seth immediately turned him over and checked on him. “BRENDON??” he screamed.
Brendon said nothing. He coughed and writhed from the massive pain in his chest. Seth was about to help him but he cause movement out of the corner of his eye. He looked into the distance, seeing another lost boy kneeling over his fallen breathern. After he was certain the Black Faction boy was dead, he looked at Seth with intense hatred. The bookstore worker then held up his weapon and fired. CLICK! He gagged, not knowing he was empty.
The Black Faction boy made a hissing sound as he slowly removed the short sword from his waistband. Seth stood his ground, not knowing what to do. Then Brendon made the decision for him, after he shoved the ancient sword into his arms. Seth looked down at him as he was slowly dying. “You know what to do,” the Asian whispered.
Seth slowly stood up, tears coming down his face. The Black Faction had threatened to take away his chances of seeing Tanya again, to seeing his home. At that moment, they had hurt a man that Seth had come to cherish. One of the few men he had every known that had a noble soul, despite the pain he suffered. Seth slowly stood up, removing the sword from it’s sheath. He started to advance toward the savage, his face contorting in rage. “COME ONNNNN!!!” he screamed at him.
The boy charged him and swung his sword at him. Seth easily blocked it. He remembered all the training his friend gave it. It all came flooding back thanks to his photographic reflexes. The two blades clanged; steel against steel, sending a small amount of sparks into the air. Seth then twirled and flung the sword down, slicing the boys hamstring. He yelped as he quickly dropped to his knees. Seth sliced him again across the chest area, hitting the sterum and both his elbows. The boy was now speechless, as his arms stopped working. He stared up at his opponent. Seth grunted at the boy, small bits of spittle coming out of his lips. The young man held the sword high above his head toward the right. He then brought it down swiftly across the savages neck. “KIAI!!!” Seth screamed the samurai spirit shout.
The boy kneeled there, not moving. He gagged slightly. Then he slowly felt down the ground and when he did; his head came off at the same time, rolling into the darkness. Seth coughed and regained his breath. He thought for a few seconds about what he had just done but only for a few seconds. Then he ran back toward his fallen comrade. Brendon was wheezing, trying to breathe. He had a small stream of blood coming out of his mouth but that didn’t stop him from smiling at his friend. He had witness the whole battle and couldn’t have been more proud. “Well done . . .my pupil,” he whispered.
“Please, Brendon, “ Seth coughed, hoisting him up in fireman’s cradle, “Just hang on.”
Seth then ran into the darkness, making his way toward the beach as fast as he could with Brendon on his shoulders. He wasn’t sure what he could do with two bullets in his back but he had to try.
Then McKay abruptly stopped. Tony jerked, stopping with him. “McKay, what is it?” he demanded.
