Part 428: Arriving Guests Part 2

Bonnie finally made her way up the stairs to the gaming room. She could only imagine what a gaming room must consist of here in this vast wealthy mansion. She had already met many wonderful people down below. She silently wished that she had been with them on that Island. From what she had read in the brief reports and books that were written by the survivors; they went through many vast dangers. However, it would definitely take something like that to make these people bond for life and cherish that bond. The young redhead finally made it to the door of the gaming room. She didn’t know it was the gaming room; she just heard the sounds of games.

She looked in and saw the boy known as Brendon Butler. He was busying placing a console game on a nearby TV, by himself. The others were with Eddie who was watching them play ski-ball. The oldest of the bunch, Aaron, was up against the next in Bridgett with little Shelley looking on. He grunted after every swipe he made the disk hit. Bridget countered with everybody blow. Then she got the disk into the slot of Aaron’s side. Eddie laughed, clapping his hands. “Good job, Breebree,” he chuckled.

“I thought you were on my side, bro,” Aaron grunted.

“I am, which is why it makes it more fun to watch you lose,” the young man smirked, “It teaches you character, boy.”

“And here I thought you just rooted for the girls,” Bonnie smirked, crossing her arms.

Eddie looked to his girlfriend and smiled brightly; glad to see her in the gaming room. Aaron looked at her too but he was more amazed than anything. “Whoa,” he coughed, “Who’s the savory lady?”

Eddie then swiped him upside the head. “Hey, boy!” he grunted, “You were raised better than that!”

“Ow!” the young boy winced and then walked over to Bonnie, “Hello, I’m Aaron. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Bonnie smiled as she shook her head; impression with quick onset of “manners.” The other kids then introduced themselves in polite ways as well, except Brendon who kept playing his video game and gave her a simple wave. Shelley stared up at the redhead. “You’re pretty,” she commented.

“Not as pretty as you are,” she giggled.

“Okay, who’s next?” Eddie clapped his hands.

“That would be you and me.” Bonnie laughed.

Eddie raised an eyebrow as she walked over to where Bridget was standing. The young man then strode over to where Aaron was and picked up his disk for ski-ball. The young boy by his side was jumping up and down. “Don’t forget,” he giggled, “When she beats you, it’s builds character.”

“Shut up, runt.” He scoffed, as he got ready to shoot the disk.

------------------------------------,

Sawyer stepped out into the porch and walked a few ways onto the lawn. He felt it was time to smoke a cigarette. He had been enjoying having a conversation with Shanna and Kate, sandwiched between them on the couch. The redneck smirked; he kinda wanted them sandwiched between him in the bed but he knew neither one would go for it. He then calmly lit up his cigarette then blew the smoke into the air. “Hey, cowboy,” a female voice echoed near him, “What’s a bad man like you doing with all these nice people?”

Sawyer looked over toward his left and smiled at the approaching form of Natasha Simmons. He looked at her gorgeous navy blue outfit and grinned. “I’m a complex guy, sweetheart,” he winked.

Natasha giggled and walked up to him; embracing him. Sawyer buried his nose in her hair and inhaled her expensive perfume. As they parted, he looked over her once again. “Well, you looking fine, Chicago,” he admired, “Where you did been this whole time?”

“You already said it,” she smiled, “I went back home to the windy city. I had to resume my job.”

“Stock trading, right?” he slowly raised one eyebrow, “How much money is that kinda work?”

She playfully tapped her index finger on his chest. “Don’t you start!” she laughed.

As they started walking up the steps, Sawyer leaned into her ear and whispered softly, “So, you got my Christmas present?”

“Yes, I do,” she whispered back, “But you can’t get it here. You’ll have to come back to my hotel room . . .to receive it properly.”

“Oh, mercy,” he grinned, staring at the contours of her rear as she entered the building.

---------------------------------,

The minutes continued to sweep by as more guests continued to arrive. Eddie was happy to see that Jilly had made it; hugging her like his long lost sister. He introduced her to Bonnie as they went back up to the gaming room for another round of ski-ball. Chance and Arizona Spartan had arrived, much to the joy of Hal and Libby. They had always bonded well with the Spartans over the years, considering what they went through together on the Island. Jenny had helped herself to some punch and chips while they waited for the other guests to arrive. She peered out of the window by happenstance and saw a very familiar car. “Jack!” she laughed.

The doctor stepped out of his vehicle, and laughed at the abundance of cars. “We should just car-pool,” he commented.

He picked up his large box of presents and proceeded toward the house. As he reached the steps, the door opened up from the inside. He smirked when he saw his adoptive little sister holding the door for him. Jack calmly leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. “Merry Christmas, Mei-mei.” He told her.

“Merry Christmas, Jack.” She winked.

“Hey, Jackie-boy!” Sawyer laughed, “Let me help you with those presents.”

“Thanks, man,” he replied in return.

“Which one is mine?” the redneck promptly countered.

Jack just laughed, shoving him over to the Christmas tree. Jilly came up to him and kissed him on the cheek. The doctor gave her a loving hug. “It’s great to see you.” He told her to her face.

“Likewise.” She smiled, “Promise me we’ll catch up.”

“I’m not going anywhere.” He told her with a wink.

“Good, now get over to the couch,” she patted him on the butt, “There is someone else you need to wish a Merry Christmas.”

Jack looked over to the couch and saw who she was referring to. Kate calmly smiled back at him; in her bright yellow and white dressed. She wore her hair shortly, legs crossed just like a proper lady. He calmly walked over and sat down next to her. She leaned over, placing a subtle kiss on his lips. “Merry Christmas, Jack.” She whispered.

“Merry Christmas, Kate.” He replied.

“You need to call me more often.” She said, gently holding his arm.

“I’m sorry, Kate. I’m still just paranoid about what you went through.”

“It’s been five years, Jack,” she assured him, “I’m pretty sure they are no longer tapping your phone.”

Jack smirked at her calmness after all this time. He then put his arm around her and gave her nice hug. She put her arms around his neck and kissed him. She missed him severely and hoped she would get the chance to re-kindle what they had. But now that she had a new identity and a new family; she had nothing but time. Kate then opened her eyes briefly and saw a familiar car entering the driveway; one that the majority of them were looking for. “Tony,” she whispered.

Jack then parted from her. He looked out the draped windows as well, seeing the black car of the Largos come to the drive way. The doctor and the brunette stood up as they looked out the window. Kate was all smiles but then she started to frown when she saw Marita get out the driver’s seat. She then walked over got to the passenger seat where Tony got out of the vehicle; still wearing his blind man’s glasses. “Oh, no,” Jack whispered.

“Hey, what are you guys looking at?” John inquired.

“John,” Kate turned to the man who saved her life, “Tony’s here. He’s . . .he’s still . . “

The archer leaned down and looked into the distance of the window. Marita and Tony were walking toward the porch. The blind man held onto a large canvas bag of presents while his wife led him to the porch. John’s heart sank in his chest. If Marita was leading him, then that mean the procedure had failed.

Marita then stepped into the building and pulled Tony with her. “Merry Christmas, everybody,” he told them.

The group didn’t reply; they all stared at him. Tony took a moment and heard their breathing. He gently placed down the canvas bag and then started walking into the living room, feeling his way around. “John?” he called to his best friend.

“Tony,” the archer advanced toward his friend; placing his hand on his arm.

“McKay?” the doctor ask for his other best friend.

The Australian moved his way through the crowd and stood next to John. He tried to hide his sadness. Seeing the blind man’s glasses on Tony still was almost enough to make him cry. Tony tilted his head toward them both and then took a deep breath.

Then reached up and took off his dark glasses.

The blind man placed them in his jacket pocket and then adjusted his eyepatch. He opened his eye and looked at John. He then looked over to McKay. The two friends were staring at their third friend in confusion. It took a few more seconds for John to realize Tony was LOOKING at him. The doctor then snickered a little. Another suppressed bit of laughter then escaped his lips. He then placed his hand on both of their shoulders; gently shaking them. “You both . . .look terrible.” He laughed.

John then screamed in delight as he embraced his friend and picked him up. He laughed as he twirled him once around. He then looked at Tony and hit him in the arm in a playful manner. “DON’T EVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN, MAN!” he laughed.

McKay then embraced him happy that he could see again. Marita was laughing hysterically; holding her hands over her mouth. Taylor and Mandy then embraced Tony as he walked around the room; finally looking at everybody. The former blind man walked up to Jack and embraced him. The two doctors then parted as Claire came over, crying. She kissed Tony briefly on the lips and held onto him. Considering he helped Kate deliver Aaron into the world, she had a special place in her heart for him. The former fugitive laughed as she embraced him afterwards. Sayid quickly patted him on the arm and hugged him as well; former soldiers that survived countless odds.

Tony was nearly bursting with happiness after he could finally see all of his friends.

---------------------------,

Eddie proceeded to exit the gaming room and walk down the stairs with Bonnie right behind him. The young man stepped lively after he heard his Uncle John screaming about something. He looked over to the living room and saw the large crowd gathered around. “Hey, “ Eddie called, “What’s all the . . .”

The group then parted as Tony turned toward the stairs, smiling at Eddie. “Ruckus.” The young man finished.

The group went silent as they allowed Tony to walk over toward the stairs. Eddie slowly finished walking down to the end, then saw Marita. She smiled as her eyes began to tear up, as she gently touched the young man’s arm. Eddie then turned his attention back toward the father figure in his life. The former blind doctor walked up to Eddie, smiling brightly. “I see the boy I knew,” he grinned, “And the man before me.”

Eddie’s eyes started to water up and the tears flowed down his cheeks. The young man then placed his hands on Tony’s shoulders. He felt like his knees were going to buckle. The very thing he had prayed for, for Tony, had finally happened. It might not have been considered a miracle for some but for Eddie it was. “Tony . . .” he stammered, “You . .you . .you . . you can . . SEE?”

The doctor placed his hands on Eddie’s cheeks; making him look him directly in the face. “Eddie,” he smiled, then laughed, “I can see.”

Eddie then collapsed in his arms, hugging him. Tony held onto him; feeling nothing but fatherly pride. Marita wiped her tears; never seeing a more happier sight. The rest of the survivors clapped at the sight before them. They all knew of the bond Eddie had with Tony and everybody appreciated it. The fates had been kind to the former blind man. Now he could see Eddie grow to a full man and the children grow up. It was literally a Kodak moment.

“Now, “ Hurley laughed, “LET’S EAT!”
