Part 324: One Way Out

This wasn’t Eddie’s first fight.

A black kid screamed as he ran toward the young boy, forcing him to be the first one to get his face smashed. He twirled like a top, flinging a small amount of blood and two teeth into the air. Eddie smashed the pipe again on the face another kid and then took out a third. Abraham took the blow of the pipe and punched the boy across the face. Eddie fell hard on the concrete and then collided with a tool box. He then grabbed it and threw it toward Abraham, banging him in the chest. Eddie then ran and tackled another kid. Delivering a flurry of punches, he put him down for the count as fast as he could. He then gagged as Abraham was back on his feet and then got Eddie in a headlock.

The young boy fought to stay away as the massive forearm was cutting the air supply to his head. Four more boys ran into the garage, right toward him. In a desperate attempt to keep them off, Eddie kicked a nearby oil catcher. The black liquid spilled out onto the ground and immediately the boys dripped in it. Eddie quickly took it to his advantage and kicked another one, making the oil spill out onto the ground. One boy screamed as he tripped and landed head first on the concrete, knocking himself out. Eddie then slammed his head back into Abraham’s nose, making his grunt. The boy then grabbed the older kid by the head and flinging him over his shoulder, making them both land in the oil.

The kids screamed and yelled as they tried to get their footing but the slippery oil was not allowing that to happen. They all tried to stand up to get their footing but Eddie was going to play that his advantage. He quickly twirled on his back, slamming his foot into every knee he could. The kids grunted as they fell down unable to walk. Eddie almost laughed as the advice of McKay finally came into good use. He was more excited about the outcome. No, this wasn’t his first fight.

It was the only fight he was ever winning.

Bunny got the jeep engine started up. Sebastian had crawled into the backseat. Eddie then slid on his back toward the jeep area. Then Abraham grunted as he stood up. “I’ll kill you!” he yelled.

Eddie got on dry footing and stood up to face him. Then he shifted his head toward the sight before him. Woogie had finally joined the fight but the bad news was, he brought a gun. The psychotic screamed as he fired at Eddie. The boy reacted the only way he knew how by grabbing Abraham and using him as a shield. The large boy jerked left and right as the bullets smacked into his back. Eddie then made it to the passenger seat, and jumped in. Woogie screamed as loud as he could as he fired into the jeep. He didn’t seem to care that he cut down a few kids in the process.

Bunny then floored the accelerator and backed up rapidly, destroying the metal door to the garage. The moment they were clear, she shifted it up into forward and turned down a dirt road trail. Eddie looked back only to see Woogie firing on them again as he faded into the distance. “Sebastian, are you okay?” Eddie screamed at him.

The little boy shook his head in agreement, holding his chest and trying to breathe. Eddie then turned to Bunny, who was laughing like a girl at Christmas morning. “Are you okay?” he asked her.

“That was fun, wasn’t it?” she laughed.

“Yeah, it was fun, cause I got out of there alive,” he looked around, “How is it you know how to drive?”

“Goodwin taught us the moment we could reach the pedals. Which way?”

“Uh . ..I don’t know.” Eddie admitted.

“What do you mean you don’t know?” she gasped.

“The ones who navigate this Island are back at my camp, “He told her, “They always led the way and I just followed. I didn’t bother to pay-“

Eddie was interrupted by Sebastian tapping on his shoulder. He then pointed toward a distance toward the right. He kept pointing toward making a whining sound in his coughs. “How does he know where to go and you don’t?” the redheaded girl asked.

“Don’t worry about that,” Eddie told her,” Just head in that direction.”

Bunny swerved the jeep off the road and into the jungle. They stumbled over hills and twigs but kept straight on the course. Eddie only hoped that they would be at the shark tank soon. He wanted to get as far away from Woogie as possible.

High above the trees, Raven held his position. Then he twisted, feeling a buzzing go off in his head. He was getting a relay message from the Watchman computer, as it finally had a lock on Eddie. The masked man smirked; not knowing how the little boy escaped the confines of Lone Wolf Station but he didn’t care. The important thing was that he was at that moment, beyond the dampening field that the station produced. Raven twisted around and grabbed the radio. “Jack, you there, over?” he asked.

The group paused in their walking. Jack quickly pulled out the radio from his backpack. Sayid, Hal and the others stopped to hear what the masked man had to say. “Yeah, Go, Raven, I copy,” the doctor told him.

“Eddie is out in the open.” Raven told him.

“Is he hurt? Is he all right?”

“Bloody hell, is Sebastian with him?” Desmond demanded.

“I don’t know all of that but I’m about too.”

“Where are you, Raven?” Jack asked, “We’ll come to you.”

“Look at a South Eastern position.”

Locke then immediately flipped up his compass and pointed it toward the South East way. They looked in the distance few seconds but saw nothing. Then in the far distance was a small bluish light, high up in the tree canopies. “Can you see me?” Raven asked.

“Yeah, we see you, Raven,” Jack smiled, “We’re heading your way.”

“Wow.” Hal whispered, as the scope of what he was seeing.

The group of men then began their pursuit of the distance in the jungle. Within moments they disappeared into the jungle, far from view. Then slowly Goodwin appeared behind them; from the side of a tree. He smiled as the group of adventurers began to run into the distance of the jungle, fading into the shadows and the bushes.

The mad man slowly armed his automatic rifle and started his descendent down hill toward the Shark Tank.

“Are we any closer?” Eddie screamed behind him, asking the mute boy.

Sebastian held up his index finger and thumb, making the gesture for slightly. Eddie looked forward at all the passing trees, holding onto the railing. Bunny continued to drive through the trees with the ease of an adult. “Eddie, answer me something.” She just told him.

“Like what?” he replied.

“Do you think I could find my parents when we get back to America?” she asked.

“Maybe. They would probably just need a sample of your DNA.”

“DNA?”

“Yeah, you skin, you genetic material and stuff. I was thinking . . .I think Goodwin kidnapped you from your parents. If we are luckily, you are listed in a missing person database back home. All we have to is trace your DNA.”

“Dynomite!” she laughed.

“Yeah, shouldn’t be too hard. The grownups know more about it than I do.”

“I am going to love it in America,” she smiled with joy, “My parents will love me. They will take me shopping. I am going to have so many friends. And I will finally get my own Barbies.”

“Wait till you see I-Pods and Gameboys.” Eddie laughed.

“What are those?”

“I-Pods can hold your musi-OH MY GOD!!”

Eddie grunted as the jeep was just rammed by another one. Glass and metal collided against each other, sending pieces of the jeeps into the air. Eddie screamed as he was flown clear of the wreckage. He saw for a brief glimpse of Woogie as he flew past him, assuming it was the psycho kid who hit them. Eddie grunted as he bounced off a tree and landed hard in the dirt with a thud.

His last thoughts before he started to black out was if Sebastian and Bunny were okay.
